The Health@Work Summit 2016 on the 12th of May 2016, at Hilton Hotel, Canary Wharf, London will feature new speaker, Karl Simmons from Thames Water.
Karl is head of health, safety and wellbeing at Thames Water and is responsible for influencing the strategic direction of health and safety within the organisation, working directly for the CEO. He has 25 years of experience in the industry, having worked across all continents in numerous safety critical industries. He holds a master’s degree in health, safety and the environment is a Chartered Occupational Safety and Health Practitioner and is a keen student of behavioural psychology.
Karl will be exploring leaders and their role in tackling health issues and will cover the following:
- Importance of having a robust and visible health & wellbeing strategy
- Addressing the needs of the workplace, the worker and the wider community
- Strong leadership – essential drive for the creation of an effective healthy working environment and culture
Other sessions on the day will examine the ergonomics and its impact on employees, mental health through men’s eyes, happiness, wellbeing and productivity. The event will also include networking session’s smaller breakout groups which will tackle mental health and physical health challenges.
This event is designed for HR directors and heads of HR, occupational health managers and advisors, chief medical officers, managers of health and wellbeing, heads of employee relations, corporate social responsibility managers and rewards and benefits professionals.
