The Symposium production team have been busy assembling this year’s Health@Work Summit 2016, and its set to be the best yet. The event will take place on the 12th May at the Hilton Hotel, Canary Wharf, London and we hope to see you there!

We can now announce, new speaker Helen Houghton from Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals will be joining the events line-up. Helen is the lead for health and wellbeing at the hospital and her background is public health and health promotion where she has 14 years’ experience in the field.

Helen previously worked for public health in Nottinghamshire for 6 years with the portfolio for workplace health. In this role, Helen developed the ‘Wellbeing at Work Award Scheme’ and supported a vast number of organisations both large and small to achieve the ‘Gold standard.’ Helen is currently using this expertise to transform the health and wellbeing of staff at DBH.

Helen will look at tips for implementing a successful worksite wellness program, and will cover the following in her presentation:

  • Understanding your employees
  • Creating a plan
  • Getting the board involved
  • Communication

Other sessions on the day will examine the ergonomics and its impact on employees, mental health through men’s eyes, happiness, wellbeing and productivity. The event will also include networking sessions and smaller breakout groups which will tackle mental health and physical health challenges.

This event is designed for HR directors and heads of HR, occupational health managers and advisors, chief medical officers, managers of health and wellbeing, heads of employee relations, corporate social responsibility managers and rewards and benefits professionals.
